I am welcoming my wonderful mother, Julie, to join this workshop with us! Julie has been teaching Pilates for over 20 years and is a former professional dancer. Pilates is something Julie has been practising herself since her 30s. Julie has a profound amount of knowledge and has worked at the Body Control Pilates Studios in London and with many Physio’s as well. She runs the studio with me at The Loft.
This workshop is 3 and a half hours. The first hour will be with Julie, exploring neutral alignment, pelvic floor and the core. There will be time for a short Q+A after.
We will then reconvene with myself, for the yoga section. It will be fascinating to bring what we learn from Julie in Pilates and apply it to our yoga. You will have a 2 hour session with me. We shall begin opening the space with Mantra. This will lead us into the āsana section. I will guide you through a practise that (I believe) covers the fundamental postures you can do everyday to stay supple and strong. We will then look at a couple of fundamental prānāyāma’s to practise everyday for health and vitality. Leading us into a fundamental seated meditation, something simple yet extremely effective to practise everyday to restore balance to your mind and body. Finally, there will be an introduction to the 7 Chakras (energy centres). (The order is subject to change slightly).
