Taking Yoga home.
Home practise can seem daunting.. Where do I start? What do I do? How do I do it?
Just the same way you turn up for your yoga class with us!
All you’ll need to do is find a large enough space at home to roll out your mat, make a comfortable environment.. maybe burn some incense, play some music.. Then the mat is your play area!
You can either follow a YouTube video (here’s one below of a get up and go Flow!) or just make up your own! That is what is so lovely about Yoga. You can literally just lay there and as long as you are present and connecting to your breathing and body you are experiencing Yoga. However, if you would like to venture into movement a great place to start is with Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar A into B). If you can remember anything from class you can try practising this at home, to help you progress for when you next come back and can move onto something else and deepen the previous posture each time! If you are listening to music, I like to think of my Flow as a dance and just move to how I feel inside and I really feel the power of Yoga as I am connecting to my emotional frequencies.
Just like life it is best not to overthink and just give it a try! It is called practise after all.. release yourself of expectations of how it should look or feel and just do it! ๐
I hope that encouraged someone to take the plunge and bring Yoga out of the studio with them ๐ <3
